Emerging Bridalwear Trends 2020/2021
As the lockdown lifts, many of our brides are wanting to get back to our wedding planning, and even more importantly, shopping for their wedding dress.
The effects of the pandemic are already being felt the world over, and bridal fashion is no exception. We’re seeing a huge contrast in gown styles; with some brides opting for a simpler gown that they may be able to wear again, and others going all out glitz and glamour to treat themselves after a tough few months.
Whichever style you prefer, we’re sure to see a lot of change in bridal wear trends over the course of the next 12 months, purely down to the effects of the pandemic. From the start of this year alone, many designers have already altered their designs to suit changing tastes in bridalwear.
So we will be keeping an eye on emerging trends to update you as they arrive.
Lace Gowns
Looking at the latest bridal collections, we’re seeing heavy focus on full lace bridal gowns, with particular emphasis on sleeve detailing.

Plunging necklines
These seem to be an emerging trend with nearly all the bridal designers we researched. Plunging necklines draw attention to the bodice and accentuate the shape of the gown. Some designers are going one step further by adding swarovski crystal detailing to the neckline.

Simple gowns
Due to the current uncertainty surrounding wedding numbers and the potential for other lockdowns, many brides are opting for simple gowns with more of a focus on cost. There does seem to be this general consensus that brides think they should go for something less poofy for their wedding, with a return for more simple silhouettes.
