Ryan and Sarah
March 2019 | Chatsworth House, Derbyshire
The fabulous Chatsworth House was the setting for the spring wedding of Ryan and Sarah when they tied the knot.
The couple, who live in Dronfield Woodhouse, were married in the 18th Century Stables and the beautiful grandeur of Chatsworth parkland took centre stage for their wedding photographs.
The couple followed their civil ceremony with an afternoon tea for 50 guests which as Sarah explained, seemed very in keeping with the era of their historic surrounding.
She said, ‘We married on Sunday March 17 at 3pm so afternoon tea seemed an ideal option. Later in the evening, some of our guests joined us for a meal at The Devonshire Arms on the Chatsworth estate where Ryan and I stayed on our first night as a married couple’.
The couple, who both work for Derbyshire County Council, met in 2017. After initially meeting online, Ryan from Doncaster and Sarah from Dronfield enjoyed their first date at Chatsworth House which is why they chose the Derbyshire stately home for their wedding venue.
Ryan, who works as a monitoring officer in the planning department, and Sarah, a solicitor in the council’s legal department, can’t thank their suppliers and wedding co-ordinators enough.
‘Everything went to plan, the weather was sunny and the whole day was just fantastic although it did go by in a bit of a blur.
Before the wedding, our photographer took us in the Chatsworth grounds to look at locations for our photos which was just fabulous to help create lovely wedding memories.’
‘The Chatsworth staff were very accommodating and our wedding co-ordinator was excellent.
Chatsworth was a very special place to get married, particularly as we were able to go up the drive and past the house on our way to the ceremony.’
‘One of my colleagues is a traditional organ grinder and he played as we arrived which added a unique touch to the day’.
For the ceremony, Sarah wore an ivory fit and flare style bridal gown with full length sleeves and a lace and pearl bodice. She carried a bouquet of yellow and purple mixed Spring flowers.
Her two bridesmaids wore deep purple dresses and the flower girl has a white dress.
They carried bouquets of yellow tulips.
The yellow and purple wedding theme continued into the wedding breakfast venue where guests enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea and took home hand made favours of glasses jars filled with sweets.
Sarah said, ‘We made quite a few things ourselves for the wedding – the favours, the save the date cards and Ryan also designed the wedding invitations’.
She said the best moment of the day was when she saw Ryan waiting for her as she walked down the aisle.
‘The whole day was just a fabulous experience. My mum helped with a lot of the arrangements but the Chatsworth Staff really made our day very special’.
The couple enjoyed a mini-moon after the wedding with a couple of days in Norfolk and then more recently have celebrated their wedding with a two-week cruise around Italy and Croatia.
