Chloe & Bradley
A Spring Celebration: Chloe and Bradley’s Dream Wedding at Grantley Hall
Living in Doncaster with their pet spaniel Rolo, Chloe & Bradley tied the knot at Grantley Hall in Ripon on 29th March 2024.
The happy couple met back in 2018 on social media and went on a date; sparks flew and they’ve been together ever since.
It was on a surprise holiday to Madeira in June 2023 for Chloe’s birthday that Brad popped the question. The couple had booked a hike up Pico Ruivo to watch the sunrise; Chloe had no idea Brad was going to propose until he got down on one knee.
The Planning
The pair began planning their wedding as soon as they touched down back in the UK. ‘We’ve always loved Grantley Hall’, Chloe says. ‘We’ve been there a few times and just fell in love with it’. After chatting about dates, the venue either had a summer date in 2026, or a spring date in 2024. The spring date meant that Chloe and Brad would only have 9 months to plan their wedding. As they didn’t want to wait, they decided to go for it and booked the spring 2024 date which happened to be Good Friday.
Initially worried whether they’d be able to get all the suppliers they wanted with the short timescale, Chloe and Brad needn’t have worried as all their suppliers were brilliant and able to accommodate.
With every relationship there’s always compromise, particularly in wedding planning; Chloe says, ‘I ran away with it a little bit but what bride doesn’t’.
A particular detail was the confetti the couple made; ‘we made our own confetti out of dried rose petals; all our relatives had rose bushes in their gardens, so we saved the petals, dried them out and used them.’
Sadly Chloe lost her grandad during wedding planning; however a strange thing happened when she went to register his death. ‘On the same day, someone sent me a link to Tickled Pink Bridal about their wedding dress sale. I thought it was fate so I went on that day on my own to try on dresses. I must’ve tried on 15-20 dresses and kept going back to the 4th one I’d tried on’, Chloe says. Chloe bought the dress there and then, along with a veil, ‘I didn’t tell anyone, I just did it’. Chloe’s mum was initially upset she didn’t get to go with her, but upon hearing her reasons why, she completely understood that it was indeed fate and meant to be.
‘Michelle at Tickled Pink was incredible, and Tracy from the groomswear section was too. All the guys got their suits from there, my mum, grandma and nan got their dresses from there. They dressed us all head to toe in Tickled Pink. Michelle and Tracy were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble and we couldn’t have done it without them. The amount of times I went back for alterations, nothing was out of their way, they were brilliant and really patient and I would definitely recommend them’, Chloe says.
It turns out that Michelle and Chloe’s mum went to dancing school together as children, but Chloe wasn’t aware of this until she’d got her dress.
The theme of the couple’s wedding day was pink; Brad’s tie was pink and Chloe mum’s dress was pink too, all matched up at Tickled Pink of course.
The Wedding Day
Brad said his favourite part about the day was of course, seeing Chloe walk down the aisle.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks, canapes and a singer during the afternoon.
Chloe and Brad want to give special mention to their photographer, Carn Patrick; ‘the charisma that he had, he was absolutely hilarious in a way that made everyone feel comfortable. He was relaxed and so were we’.
Then it was time for the speeches, where Chloe’s dad actually told Brad there was no 14 day return or exchange from the wedding day to give Chloe back!
‘I also got roasted from Brad’s brothers about the time I offended my now mother-in-law about profiteroles’, Chloe says.
The happy couple, along with their parents, grandparents, Brad’s brother and his girlfriend arrived at Grantley Hall the day before their wedding. They enjoyed a relaxed spa day and finished the day off with a meal before they said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. When the wedding day came around, it was a very calm affair. ‘Even the makeup artist commented how calm everyone was for the wedding morning’, Chloe says.
The happy couple had 50 guests for their ceremony, a small intimate affair, with 30
more guests due to arrive for the reception in the evening.
Chloe gushed about how amazing it was to have everyone there for them in the same room, ‘It was incredibly overwhelming, everyone is there in that room for you. I mean, when are you ever gonna get that again?’
After the speeches, the couple had a live band to get
guests up dancing; champagne was flowing and everyone was happy.
Chloe and Brad had their first dance to Greatest Day by Take That; ‘we practised a routine in the kitchen for a few weeks before the wedding as I didn’t just want to be swaying’, Chloe says, ‘After a minute on the dancefloor, we encouraged everyone else to get up dancing’.
Following the first dance, the couple cut the cake and had a special nod to their 3 year old spaniel Rolo.
‘We had a cake sculpture made of him for the bottom of the cake’, Chloe says. Rolo enjoyed his own little holiday to Posh Pads Boutique Dog Hotel, where a little birdie tells us he got
a girlfriend!
Chloe, Brad and their guests then went downstairs into Valeria’s Champagne & Cocktail bar, situated at Grantley Hall, where they had a live saxophone player and DJ until 2am. This couple knows how to party!
One memorable moment of the couple’s was when they were sat in reception with a pot of tea at 2am, ‘we sat down and just went oh my god it’s done, gone in the blink of an eye!’. Chloe says.
Chloe and Brad stayed overnight and spent the full day at the venue the following day, enjoying lunch and relaxing in the spa, before being whisked off to Manchester airport for their dream honeymoon in the Maldives.
One bit of advice the couple want to impart is this, ‘Make sure you do it for you and nobody else, a lot of people take into consideration what other people think, and sometimes they make the wrong choice based on that. I wouldn’t change anything about my day’, Chloe says. Brad adds, ‘Just go for it because the money will find you, go big or go home!’
Wishing Chloe and Brad a lifetime of happiness in their marriage.
