We’ve hand-picked 5 of our favourite UK ‘minimoon’ destinations so you can toast your newlywed status in idyllic paradise.

The Cotswolds
We hear about couples honeymooning in the Cotswolds all the time. It’s such a popular destination because it’s just so pretty and idyllic, and romantic too. The landscape is gorgeous and there are plenty of lovely places to stay there. Try the Three Ways House Hotel, a charming village hotel just 10 minutes away from Stratford-upon-avon. This hotel is also known as the home of the Pudding Club since 1985, and non-members are welcome to attend the twice-monthly pudding club meetings to enjoy the seven delicious puddings on offer.
Or why not try The Cotswold House Hotel set in the gorgeous Cotswold countryside. This 28 bedroom townhouse has beautiful gardens and even an award-winning spa. Enjoy a coffee at the Bistro On The Square and dine in the new Fig Restaurant, partaking in fine dining and inspired gourmet cuisine.

Lake District
Filled with pretty cottages and stunning lakes, the Lake District is the perfect option for a minimoon getaway. Stay at the Rothay Garden Hotel & Spa in Grasmere, Cumbria. Rothay Garden is overlooked by majestic fells and has a restaurant with views of 2 acres of riverside gardens. Enjoy a 5 course meal and the view at the same time as you toast your newlywed status. The Lake District can be enjoyed all year round as most of its attractions are open throughout the seasons. Come in the winter and witness the beautiful snow-capped mountains and quiet lakes.

Another popular minimoon destination and the perfect excuse to get away from it all. Minimooning to Cornwall is like honeymooning abroad, with its warmer climate. Enjoy sunset views and romantic seascapes and discover an amazing range of award-winning restaurants, all showcasing the very best of what the Cornish coast has to offer.
Carbis Bay is a particular favourite of newlyweds. Stay at Tranquility, an idyllic romantic cottage featuring a hot tub with the most beautiful, never-ending views leading out to Mount’s Bay in the distance. If you’re a fan of water sports, there’s plenty on offer at Carbis Bay beach with lessons for total novices to help you get your sea legs. You could also take a day trip to St Ives to witness even more beautiful views and amazing restaurants featuring quality, locally sourced produce.

Glamping throughout the UK
If you’re not into the Spa hotels or fancy minibreaks, how about going Glamping instead? The destination is your choice as there are loads of glamping destinations throughout the UK. For a Treehouse glamping holiday, try The Bower Treehouse in Somerset. You will feel super connected to nature as everything is organic. Relax in the outdoor bathtub with some luxurious bubbles and wrap up warm afterwards in a fluffy robe. There’s a BBQ downstairs so you can even dine alfresco, and a stream underneath the treehouse provides the perfect tranquil soundtrack.
Or Why not travel to Devon and stay in a cosy Shepherd’s hut aptly named Little Poro. To get there, you stroll through an orchard, down the woodland walkway with trees lining either side and night lights to light your way. You can press your own juice at the Cider House nearby or take a dip in the Swedish hot tub. Inside the hut, the Scandinavian theme continues, with sheepskin rugs from Iceland, wooden tealight holders and a modern kitchen and bathroom painted in neutral tones with splashes of red. It can be your cosy getaway just for the two of you as you celebrate your newlywed status.

Castle getaway in Scotland
There are plenty of places to visit in Scotland, so why not try a castle spa break?
Stobo Castle in the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside in Peeblesshire is Scotland’s only destination spa. There’s something truly magical about staying in a castle and breathing in that brisk fresh air. Enjoy walking by the loch to feel at one with nature, or witness the waterfall in the Japanese Water Gardens, designed to promote a Zen-like calm. As the hotel is a spa hotel, you can enjoy a range of beauty treatments with your partner by your side. You can even enjoy a relaxed lunch in between treatments and a lovely glass of champagne to toast your honeymoon. For more active couples, bring your mountain bikes and go exploring the beautiful Scottish countryside, or take up a spot of tennis and work up a thirst for a cocktail in Stobo Castle’s tropical Cocktail Lounge.
