A Cyprus Yacht wedding for Lisa and Vic gave them the dream day they’d been hoping for.
The happy couple, who live in Romford, Essex with their two children, Zain, 5, and Isla, 2, originally met through work 12 years ago. Lisa and Vic soon started seeing each other and romance blossomed.
Their engagement happened while in the Dominican Republic as the couple were out there celebrating Lisa’s Uncle’s 50th birthday. ‘Vic had planned the proposal with my uncle, and it was a complete surprise. He got everyone together and did it in the hotel in front of all the family’, Lisa remembers.
Lisa and Vic booked their wedding date soon after their engagement, and what a special date it was to be. The original date of 26th May 2020 was special as it was the 10-year anniversary of their first holiday together. However, due to covid, this date had to be moved twice, first to 2021 and then to 1st June 2022.
The couple found Exclusive Yacht Weddings through a local wedding fayre, then not long after, went over to Cyprus to see them, along with viewing the venue and everything else.
When Sharron discussed the Ocean Flyer yacht with them, Lisa and Vic knew they wanted it for their special day.
Sharron and the team helped the happy couple right from the very beginning, from arranging transport to sourcing local suppliers. As everything was taken care of, it meant Lisa and Vic could focus on looking forward to the big day.
One good part about postponing the wedding for so long was that the couple’s’ daughter Isla and Lisa’s nephew Vinnie could each play a bigger part in the big day as they would be old enough to carry out their important roles of flower girl and page boy to walk down the aisle.
The wedding day arrived, and 50 guests all travelled to Cyprus to watch the couple get married.
‘Everyone made the effort and made it hassle free; in hindsight, we were so lucky that everything happened the way it did, and we didn’t have a single cancellation or single suitcase lost’, Lisa remembers.
The wedding colour scheme was blush pink and table plan names were all the different places the couples have travelled to, such as Florida, the Dominican Republic, Paris and Cyprus.
The cake was done in house by Tracy at Exclusive Yacht Weddings, and was a one tier Victoria Sponge cake with cupcakes.
When asked about Sharron and the Exclusive Yacht Weddings team, Lisa and Vic can’t sing their praises enough.
‘We turned up and left it all to them and it was all done. I thought we would be more involved, but they nailed everything. Everything they said they’d do, they delivered on and were spot on with everything’.
Lisa & Vic also wanted to give special mention to their wedding planner, Mel from Exclusive Yacht Weddings, who went above and beyond to ensure the couple had the day they’d always dreamed of.
‘The whole day was planned for us; they even arranged for their own private coach to collect the wedding guests from the airport’, Lisa says.
‘We couldn’t have the wedding we had over here, we had to have it abroad and everyone said it was one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to’, Vic said.
Everything went to plan on the big day, aside from a ban on fireworks due to military training happening that weekend, but the couple were aware of this beforehand and had an illusionist instead.
When asked what advice they’d offer other couples getting married, the couple said, ‘Our day went so quickly so take every moment in; we flew back and came home and had the wedding blues. All that planning and the day was over so quickly’.
Lisa and Vic chose New York for their honeymoon; a cooler contrast to the hot weather in Cyprus.
